I, the undersigned, am a senior in the Computer Science Department of Tsinghua University. I major in the Application of Computer in Rural Areas. The orientation of my major is to apply computer science to the cultivation of crops. This is a brand new major, which has a promising prospect.

The foremost reason for me to choose the major is apparent. I was born in the countryside and was brought up there. What’s more, the majority of China’s population still lives in the rural areas. A major which can solve the problem of the majority is of significance to me.

Since China is a farming nation, the development of farming and rural areas means that my major is a right choice and will be more conducive to every Chinese.
